Lancashire based Interior designers bringing space to life

#VisitBlackpool

In the home of the famous Blackpool Illuminations, Tower and Pleasure Beach we would like to introduce our re-planned and re-designed Tourist Information Centre.

Blackpool tourist information
Next time you are in Blackpool, why not pop in to the Tourist Information Centre at Festival House.  Did you know, you can get discounted show tickets there?  The staff too have fantastic knowledge about Blackpool and the surrounding area and can help you with hotel bookings, day trips and much more.

We are really proud to have worked on this refurbishment project, especially as it’s on our door step.  As our followers know, we certainly have a vast amount of experience developing visitor spaces and we have had our beady eye on this one for some time.

Over a hundred thousand visitors come through the doors of the Information Centre each year.  We think that’s amazing.  You can imagine that we were under a bit of pressure to make sure our space planning was spot on!  Our aim from the outset was to ensure the services, information and products were clearly displayed and the space was easy to navigate.  The budget was small but we are never put off by that.  We don’t believe a small budget should compromise creativity.

We have introduced a new dedicated ticket collection counter, a new information wall with state of the art information screens, new floor fixtures and even up-cycled the existing units.  The main challenge for us was the existing architectural envelope – sloping walls and angles everywhere.  It has certainly tested our shop fitting team Clarke Gough, who had to manufactured site-specific details to make it all work.

The Centre now has a well-positioned information counter, the staff have fabulous views of Blackpool Tower and can see customers as they approach.  The information and merchandise is easy to shop, clearly displayed and the visitors love the open, airy feel to the interior.

Before The re-design

We have created interior fixtures which now visually link to the architectural building style, as well as an internal space which not only appealed to visitors but the staff feel comfortable working in. Here are some of our sketches, 3D work and snaps we took during the fit-out:

Work – During the re-design

We couldn’t conclude our post without giving a loud ‘shout out’ to the very excellent Clark Gough. We cannot recommend them enough! As you can see from the photos below, they did a fantastic job.

Done – Here’s how it looks now

We would like to say a special thanks to the management team and staff at the Tourist Information Centre – Mandy Tythe-McCallum, Steve Deaking, Alan Johnston, Emma Chilton and Sandy Griffiths. They have all been fantastic throughout the shop fit. http://www.visitblackpool.com/tourist-information-centre/
