Bev went back to Burnley Crematorium to meet up with Senior Crematorium Technician, Tom, who was a member of the team that we worked with two years ago on the refurbishment project. We wanted to ensure that the updates we made were still working well for users and visitors alike, and that our choice of interiors were holding up to the everyday use of multiple services. User feedback has been great for our bespoke lectern, which can be raised and lowered at the push of a button, making it more accessible for everyone. The cushions, selected to reflect the stained-glass windows, are making the experience more comfortable for visitors and they appreciate the muted, respectful colour palette.

The stretched, printed, backlit ceiling in the waiting area still looks stunning, providing a calm and tranquil space to gather thoughts. The tranquillity is retained, due to the sound proofing, buffering any noise from the adjoining chapel. Having a television, surrounded by a specially designed panel, enables people to watch the service being held in the chapel from the comfort of the waiting room.

The bespoke desk, providing an additional, lower level, pull-out surface remains both practical, enabling wheelchair access, and beautifully made to last.

We were so pleased with how good this project still looks and that our updates are being appreciated by the people who use them.
