The #DS15 fashion show was fab! If you missed this invite only UCLan event don’t worry, we’ve snapped a few photos and videos for our followers to give you a flavour.
Being an all female creative business, we do love our clothes. So, as you can imagine, it’s always inspirational to see what our local student fashion designers are up to.
As Interior Architects, we know the trends in fashion influence those in the interior design sector so we were thrilled to be invited to take a look at some stunning clothing collections from the next generation of fashionistas at UCLan (University of Central Lancashire).

Fashion is very personal and is a way of visually reflecting who we are, our influences and aspirations. Interior design is similar, in lots of ways. Our clients want their interior spaces to reflect their brand ideals, business beliefs and future aspirations.
For a more in-depth look at how fashion and design are connected we recommend reading Emma Dance’s post “How catwalk fashions influence interior design trends.”
As you may be aware from past blog posts we work keep a close eye on industry as well as fashion trends.
We also note materials and colour trends each year. Did you know that ‘Copper Blush’ by Dulux paint is Their colour of the year.
Copper Blush, the key colour for 2015, reflects this movement as a beautifully heart-warming shade with real depth which creates an easy to live with atmosphere but with a touch of elegance.”
As well as Copper Blush check out the Pantone colour of the year. We love the richness of ‘Marsala’ (Pantone 18-1438) and can see this working well in all sorts of interiors schemes.
The impactful, full-bodied qualities of Marsala make for an elegant, grounded statement colour when used on its own or as a strong accent to many other colours.”
We are wondering when we’ll see some of the colours and styles from this years fashion shows appearing in interior design trends of the future? We are certainly going to keep a close eye on future student fashion shows to find out.
