We have all heard the phrase ‘you can’t have your cake and eat it’, well we know you can.  We have just completed another yummy project in Preston – Indulgence Dessert Bar.

restaurant in Preston, which we designed earlier this year, we were recommended to our new clients as designers who were very creative and could make their space look fantastic.  We were invited by Imran and his team at Indulgence to come up with creative ways to enhance their newly acquired dessert bar.

Their new acquisition was right opposite Cardinal Newman College. A perfect location and one which would appeal to the students as well as the local community.

The brief from our new client was to improve the overall look and feel of the space whilst retaining the large servery counter and existing flooring. Our client also wanted us to fit as much seating as possible in the space. Given the narrow width and imposing counter, this was not an easy task.

When working in such a confined space such as this, the challenge with this layout was to create a space that could service customers who just wanted to grab and go and also those wanting to sit and dine.

Banquette seating details 

With the introduction of banquette seating, we have enabled groups, families, and couples to enjoy a more private dining experience. The banquette has been deliberately placed to aid customer flows and clearly separates the counter activities – no more clipping chairs as you make your way to place your order!

Ceiling and lighting enhancements

The existing ceiling has been retained (to save cost) and we have introduced a new feature bulkhead over the servery counter with quirky pendant lights.

The graphic treatments, menu panels, and display shelving have been designed to compliment the space and the dessert bar is now a light, bright and vibrant place to eat.

If you are ever near Cardinal Newman College, make sure you grab your coffee at Indulgence. We can recommend their Latte and the food at Indulgence is great value too. In fact, while the shopfitting works were happening, passers-by and locals were trying to get in and buy food!

We have no doubt that Indulgence dessert bar in Preston will do extremely well. It was a pleasure to work on this sweet project and indulge our design ideas. If you haven’t tried this excellent dessert bar we highly recommend you pay it a visit.
