Lancashire based Interior designers bringing space to life

Our New Babe

What a busy year it has been so far and workloads have been steadily increasing.  We are not complaining, far from it, however, it has meant that we have had to increase our team and would like to welcome our ‘new babe who designs’ Angela Drakeford.

Angela comes to us with over 20 years’ experience in the Interior Design industry and has travelled far and wide during her career. After graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University, she started out designing for Bass Vintage Inns, followed by an 8-year stint in Dubai designing some of the world’s finest Hotels including Raffles at Wafi and The Grosvenor House Hotel.  Angela then returned to the UK and worked for a large Manchester Architectural firm and focused her skills on Agile working in the Workplace. She has since completed many schemes implementing the smart working ethos helping to improve businesses and increasing productivity within their workplace.

Through analysis and evaluation, Angela will be able to advise our current and future clients on the working environment and how, through design, enable a more productive and happy workplace. She does this by integrating people, workflow process, property and technology to enhance business performance. This workplace knowledge and planning strategy is a fantastic coup for bwd and will enable us to align client’s property requirements with their organisation objectives.

Angela is also an advocate of Biophilic design within the workplace. This is a technique used to focus on human’s innate attraction to nature and natural processes by incorporating direct or indirect elements of nature into the built environment. It has been proven to increase well-being in the office, and in the hospitality sector, Guests are willing to pay 23% more for rooms of Biophilic elements.

By implementing this technique within your workplace or hospitality environment we will be able to help you create more productive, happier and healthier spaces to live and work in, by improving the human connections to nature.

Since starting with bwd Angela has helped move the business forward in offering her diverse skill set and helping secure some exciting new projects.
