Bosco Lytham – Restaurant Concept

Client

Bosco is a family-owned Italian restaurant in Lytham, Lancashire.  The current restaurant is bright and airy and has a modern ambience.  At rear of the restaurant is an open kitchen with a stone-bake wood-burning oven.  The food is traditional Italian, and Bosco’s attract a regular clientele to its busy Lytham location.

Project

BWD were invited to come up with ideas for refreshing the restaurant.  The owners wanted to bring the look and feel ‘up-to-date’ whilst not overly designing it or alienating their existing customer base.  The client wanted the design moved on a little without drastically changing the casual dining feel.

Outcomes

BWD’s concept for Bosco builds on their existing brand.  Getting to know more about the owners and their heritage, we looked at ways to tweak the existing colour palette, update the furniture and lighting and introduce some key features which would promote their brand and enhance the customer dining experience.  We wanted to give customers the idea they were sitting in Italy having dinner al fresco style, so we have introduced ceiling feature areas which incorporate back-lit graphics depicting overhanging grape vines. The walls showcase large graphics of street scenes and we have created a wine wall feature to promote their ‘wines of the week’.  The shopfront too has been decorated to compliment the new look and feel and their menu’s and other branded literature have been updated to compliment the scheme.
