Liverpool John Lennon Airport

Client

Liverpool John Lennon Airport, recognised as the UK’s top airport for customer satisfaction in the Which? report, aimed to enhance the passenger experience. With increasing passenger numbers, Liverpool’s Growth Platform Company sought to promote the attractions of Liverpool and Merseyside to visitors while improving access to travel information.

The Project

BWD Ltd, led by Bev Wood, was awarded the contract to design and implement a multilingual, accessible Visitor and Travel Information zone in the airport’s arrivals hall.

The project required an engaging, interactive space featuring touch-screen graphics, developed in collaboration with Marketing Liverpool, to inform and inspire onward travel. Surveys with inbound passengers were conducted to tailor the content to the needs of the airport’s diverse audience.

Outcomes

The completed information zone features multiple accessible screens, designed for all users, including wheelchair accessibility and multilingual options. The visually appealing and practical design ensures that passengers can easily access travel information, enhancing their overall experience. Officially launched on 12th September, the project successfully supports Liverpool’s reputation as a top destination and further enhances the customer experience at the airport.
