Client

St George’s Hall is an iconic example of neo-classical architecture. The Hall has recently undergone significant conservation and restoration, ensuring its long-term preservation while enhancing its role as a major public landmark.

The Project

The challenge was to create a retail environment that maximized product visibility, improved operational efficiency and delivered an engaging customer experience, within a compact sales floor. The design needed to provide staff with a clear oversight of the retail space, while maintaining a discreet separation between customer-facing and back-of-house functions.

Outcomes

The design delivered a functional and engaging retail environment, by placing a central till island to improve staff visibility, customer service and security. A dual-purpose, rear till screen provides staff privacy, while creating additional merchandising space. The perimeter alcove displays and mobile fixtures maximize flexibility, while back-illuminated Minton tile-inspired panels transform unused recesses into architectural features. Integrated lighting and framed artwork enhanced product presentation, reinforced the store’s identity and created a welcoming, contemporary retail experience.
