Travel Centre Refurbishment

The client team briefed bwd to design a warm, friendly and inviting space for their travel centre which would reflect the company’s rich history. To communicate to customers that they are not Blackpool-centric, and their services extend from Fleetwood to Lytham. The client wanted the space to present their travel offer in a more modern and customer-focussed way.

The new travel centre design centres around delivering more effective customer service. There is no longer one long counter with no indication to customers as to where to queue. Literature is stored away in a purpose built storage unit to avoid any clutter. We formed a dedicated supervisor’s room to enable more secure cashing up as well as providing the staff somewhere to take a break. The colourways reflect the new bus livery and the centre is now a welcoming and friendly place to visit. As a one-stop shop for all things related to Blackpool Transport customers can pick up timetables, obtain fare information and tickets, catch up on all the latest news and even buy a souvenir.
