Lancashire based Interior designers bringing space to life

Step it up

We love creative and inspirational local events and as such we couldn’t leave this event unreported. Coming to an end this week – have you ascended the Harris Flights?

It looks like a flight of stairs, that is until you start to notice the scale. It spans over two storeys, links two key public areas and is being used as a stage.

We love how it transforms a well known local landmark as well as providing a really novel way to bring a bit of theatre to the streets of Preston.

The Harris Flights is a dramatic temporary staircase which will transport visitors for the first time from the Flag Market to the 1st floor of the Harris Museum & Art Gallery. It will also create a fantastic focal point in the city centre throughout the summer, for people to meet with friends and enjoy a coffee, eat or read a book”

But wait! These steps are not just steps, but also cinema seats. A cinema on the steps is also being hosted.

Get in character, dress up and play your part as the Flights become Preston’s own outdoor cinema!”

This got us thinking about what other landmarks could be given a creative make-over. Have you seen anything similar in your town?
