Best of Britannia is now over and what an amazing event. The bwd team had a fantastic time.

Hosted by the Best of Britannia team, in the gorgeous old Post Office building in Preston. We met new prospective clients, some existing ones and got to meet many new businesses who we can potentially collaborate with. So glad we took the opportunity to take part.
Credit to Preston City Council, Creative Lancashire and Best of Britannia team for putting on this showcase and promoting creativity and the very best of British talent.
Radio Lancashire were following the event and Bev was invited to chat on air with ‘Gilly’ John Gillmore about the show. Look out for our interview on our Youtube channel.
Well where do we start? A real diverse show of creatively-led industries from leather goods to glassware, shoes to chocolates and scooters to ceramics. This event really highlighted the innovation, originality and craftsmanship we have here in the North West.

Did you know that there is a business in Rossendale who are leather experts and make bespoke handbags, clutch bags and belts? We had the pleasure of being next door to Deni Deni – we particularly loved the six foot leather UK map! www.deni-deni.com. We loved Red Thumb Print’s bespoke furniture and wine holders www.redthumbprint.co.uk and caught up with our good friends Alexis Valentine, www.walkingonglass.co.uk and the simply fabulous Dan Marc, www.danmarc.co.uk.
Exhibiting upstairs were UCLan. We have always been a proud supporter of UCLan; our designer, Ria Parkinson, graduated with a masters in Interior Design. The quality and innovation from the students was really impressive. If you are a business in the North West looking for talent, you don’t need to look further than Preston.
The outdoor market offered all sorts of foodie delights. We are now eating salads after our gastronomic weekend!
If you didn’t try the Bailey’s flapjacks from Flap O Jacks or the fruit flavoured lagers from Freddies then you missed out. Without those awesome flapjacks and the Mango lager we wouldn’t have made it through the weekend.
As interior architects we had an advantage when it came to planning our space. From initial measurements, to hand drawn sketches and digital mock-ups, this was a mini project for us. See our past blog: [BLOG HERE] http://creativeinterpreters.com/2015/05/11/bob-in/
A big thank you to Karndean Designflooring who provided our #Looselay flooring.
Thank you too to our own #babeswhodesign team for helping setup and for giving up their weekend to man our space. A true team effort that even saw Bev’s husband Colin doing a spot of DIY as well as installing the AV equipment.
A big shout out to Coral Horn from Pink Link Ladies who came down on Saturday to help us meet and greet our visitors. As a proud winner of last year’s EVAS Award, it was a pleasure to have Coral with us.
Thank you to Leyland photographer Mattefinish for lending us his plinth. We returned it just this week, fresh and white after a new coat of paint.
Last but not least, a big thank you to our media partners Lucky 6 Marketing. They helped us set-up on Thursday and live tweeted for us over the weekend. You can see their handy work on our Facebook page – check out all the great pics, as well as our Twitter feed from the weekend.
Finally, thanks to the excellent exhibitors and visitors who made the weekend fun for us. It was a pleasure to chat to you all and we hope you’ll stay in touch.
Did you come to Best of Britannia? What were the highlights for you?
