On the eve of our 5th year in business we wanted to do something special with this year’s Christmas card so we decided to host a creative competition.

We invited the University of Central Lancashire final year Advertising students to help us out.

We briefed the students to not only come up with the creative idea but also to cost the production, packaging and postage. To make our brief a bit tougher, we wanted the design to be memorable, interactive and festive.

Bev regularly lectures at UCLan and Ria (see Ria – A New Babe Who Designs) is an MA Interior Design graduate from UCLan. Ria played a crucial role in the development of the brief to the students as well as judging the winning design.

We had a tough time picking a winner from the 14 entries and decided on the winning design by Malina Giurgea and Teodora Nicolae because their idea was fun, creative and fully answered our brief” Ria Parkinson, BWD.

It is our ambition at BWD to grow our business with local Lancashire talent and we have certainly seen the benefits of engaging with UCLan and their bright vivacious students.

Bryn Jones, Course Leader BA (Hons) Advertising was really pleased to be approached and said:
