Lancashire based Interior designers bringing space to life

It’s a wrap

Our new client, Preston’s College provided us with the opportunity to design and implement a number of enhancements to their new #iSTEM building earlier in the summer.  One of the enhancements was a monitor display unit to house their large welcome screen which would double as a break-out teaching space.

This type of installation is always a challenge.  The unit needed to be a securely fixtured to withstand daily use and yet enable it to be moved if needed.

As the new welcome screen had to greet visitors on entry, the unit had to be presented “front and centre” as you walk through the doors to the iStem building. Top convince the client that we had the correct location we visualised the unit in the final position by creating a photo-shopped 3D view.  Our visual had the desired effect and helped secure a client sign-off.  In fact, our visuals are so realistic that when the final unit was installed, the client could hardly see the difference between the visualised image and the final install.

We chose to work with a joinery company from Darwen www.paulcasefurniture.co.uk. Paul and his team are superb craftsmen and always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done exactly the way the client wants it. Paul fabricated bespoke brackets to clamp the unit to a column which holds it firmly in place. No drilling to the floor or column required and it stays in place as desired.

Education at Preston’s College now starts as you walk through the door. No need to wait till you are in the classroom.
