Ria – A New Babe Who Designs (bwd)

We can’t believe we are already half way through 2013, were has the time gone?  Well we have had a great year so far doing some new Visitor Centre work, which we have a strong track record in, for our Lake District National Park client.

We handed over Keswick and Bowness on Windermere recently, adding another two visitor environments to our eight other schemes.  We have completed a serviced office refurbishment for a client in Windermere called ‘Sportstec’ and well on the way to finishing our first restaurant and ice-cream parlour in Barrow-in-Furness for a lovely husband and wife team.

We are just starting our second restaurant scheme for a new client in Preston (sorry, can’t say who just yet) and our street furniture range is in pre-production stage. Writing this we still can’t believe how much we have achieved in just over five months!

Having had such a busy start to the year we felt it was time to expand the team and so our new ‘babe who designs’, Ria has joined us this week from an agency in Manchester.  Ria is a graduate of Liverpool John Moore’s and completed her MA at our local University in Preston (UCLan).  She brings her bars and restaurant interiors skills and knowledge to bwd.  She only started on Monday and already has had a hectic week in/out of the studio.

Ria Parkingson_bwd_Beverley Wood Design Limited“so far so good, I’ve settled in really well and have already been introduced to two of bwd’s clients and have had a day out in Birmingham and Liverpool.  Researching in Birmingham we visited The Mailbox which is a new shopping development by the Canal.  I took some great snaps of this really interesting place so thought I’d share them with our bwders…..”  A few words from Ria about her first week as a bwd.

Ria has been such a star this week and has really dived into the project work.  We have had a really manic week and she has kept her cool and offered some really great ideas.

We are really excited about the next half of the year and looking forward to a busy summer with new work from Blackpool, North Wales, Birmingham and more work in Windermere.  We may even try and sneak a bit of holiday too
