Lancashire based Interior designers bringing space to life
In July 2025, Grade 1 listed Towneley Hall in Burnley reopened to the public, following a £4.56m repair and restoration project. Burnley Council had appointed BWD Ltd to support the interpretation (telling the story of Towneley Hall) and refurbishment works at the Hall, which has been a museum and gallery since 1903 and houses nationally significant collections of fine and decorative arts.
There is significant investment being made to Blackpool town centre in new hotels and office developments and for the last year, BWD Ltd has been proud to be a part of them. Blackpool Council, with support from UK government, has invested £8.2m in the renovation of Stanley Buildings within Blackpool town centre and the creation of a new business growth hub called The Robinson.
Bev went back to Burnley Crematorium to meet up with Senior Crematorium Technician, Tom, who was a member of the team that we worked with two years ago on the refurbishment project.
At BWD, we know that the best spaces begin with people and end with thoughtful design. That belief guided our work on the recent £8.2 million restoration of Blackpool’s 1930s Art Deco Stanley Buildings, renamed as The Robinson in honour of the original architect.
Inclusion is widely recognised as something to focus on, in order to improve the attraction and increase the retention of people within the engineering sector.

The recently completed Burnley Crematorium project certainly created memories for BWD Ltd and they believe it will for those attending funeral services too.
